2026 Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards Nominations Announced

Comic-Con just announced the nominees for this year’s Eisner Awards, considered the “Oscars” of comics. The nominees include more than 170 print and online titles from approximately 75 publishers and will be judged across 32 categories. When it comes to publishers, DC Comics leads the pack with the most nominations (16), but indie publisher Fantagraphics isn’t far behind with 14 titles. I also noticed that some of the nominated authors are the same authors whose comics have previously been nominated for the Best Comics of the Century list (see details below). These include Raina Telgemeyer, K. O’Neill, Trung Le Nguyen, Mariko Tamashiro, Alison Bechdel, and Juni Ba.

Eisner Award winners will be announced at a gala ceremony on July 24th.

The best comic book of the century

Speaking of manga! i had time It helped us create a list of the best comics of this century so far. Even though I’ve been reading comics for many years, there were a lot of great titles nominated by staff and contributors, but this was new to me. Comics have been part of the cultural discourse for a really long time, and our list of the best comics of the 21st century covers their entire gamut.

These comics, graphic novels, and graphic nonfiction include coming-of-age stories set during revolutionary times, those that use fables to explore strange realities, and those that rely solely on illustrations to tell stories. There are manga from Japan that have taken the world by storm, as well as relatable manga for young readers that have inspired them to read for the rest of their lives.

Please join this list and let us know what you think. Which manga would you like to add? If you’re in the mood for something spicy, takeout is also available.
