“Cross My Heart, I Hope You Die” by Mallory Arnold (Poison Pen, July 14)
Speaking of boyfriends and malice! in Cross my heart, I wish you were dead, The three women realize that they are all dating the same man and decide to take revenge on him. So they took him to a secluded cabin in the snowy wilderness. The plan was meant to be revenge, but it backfires when the women discover their boyfriends dead in the cabin. Now they are snowing together and doubting each other. Is one of them a murderer? Or are there other people at home?

No One Leaves the Manor by Kelly McWilliams (Little, Brown Books, July 14)
Director Kelly McWilliams’ latest YA gothic horror is set in 1921. Four debutants are invited to compete for a vast inheritance in the crumbling Greystone mansion. Each girl has their own motivation for competing. Dorothea wants to know what happened to her mother, who disappeared at Greystone Manor many years ago. Birdie believes the power of God brought her to this moment. Mr. Vaughn is trying to regain his social status. And Elspeth has a special ability to see things that others cannot see, including all the strange happenings in the mansion (and the evil secrets hiding within its walls).

Strange paintings by Uketsu and Noriyuki Aiba (July 14th)
If you like Uketsu strange picture If you read the series, you’ll love this new graphic novel adaptation with manga art by Noriyuki Aiba. Just like the novel, this graphic novel uses puzzles to draw readers into the story’s dark mysteries. Each image contains hints of a shocking crime, and readers can uncover secrets alongside investigators throughout the story. This is the first volume of what will be a five-volume book. Volume 2 is scheduled to be released in September.

“White Rabbit” by Abigail Rose Marie (Union Square & Company, July 14)
Abigail Rose-Marie’s latest novel is a coming-of-age story with an unforgettable atmosphere. Eleven-year-old Penelope Willows lives with her grieving mother in a yellow house on the edge of a cliff. To cope with her father’s sudden disappearance, Penelope insists on counting as a routine to keep the world in order. But she is also supported by an unexpected companion. It is the ghost of Sylvia Plath, who once lived in this house.

“We Were Never Here” by Sophia Hannan (Simon & Schuster, July 28)
If you’re like me and love ghost hunting YouTube videos, you’ll love this YA horror novel. Georgia Perry and Jules Park are girlfriends and co-hosts of a ghost-hunting YouTube channel, but this is really just a front for their art theft. However, the robbery at the De Lis mansion goes awry, Jules dies, and Georgia wakes up in a pool of blood with no memory of what happened. Months later, Georgia and her crew are forced to return to the crime scene to finish the job they started. But what actually happened at that mansion a few months ago? Ghosts may be real after all.
