Gen Z is so bored with dating apps (Boda), that some people have created a business named after Ennui. The startup began holding an IRL date event at a New York bookstore in 2023, and is now trending across the pond. Ceci Brown shares her experiences at a “read date” event where she was told to bring a book with her contact information engraved on it and share it with people she wants to know better. It’s just cute and sounds much more troublesome than you might expect.
