Move Over, Harlan Coben
Then He Was Gone by Isabel Booth (on sale now) is the first book to be published by The Blacklist Fiction Project. This is an endeavor that aspiring writers should take seriously, and I think that whatever comes out of it will be of particular interest to readers.

Barbara Kingsolver’s new novel to be published this fall
Barbara Kingsolver’s next novel is Partita, which will be published in October of this year. From the publisher’s description:
“…we meet Livia Bohus, another rural Appalachian. As a child, closed off to the tragic death of her brother and the suffocating silence of her parents, she finds her only solace in her passionate love of music. Livia’s extraordinary skill as a pianist, through a college music scholarship, takes her from her family’s farm to thrilling knowledge, dangerous passions, and confusing class walls. It transports you to a new world full of coming-of-age, mid-life hope, and regret. As complex as Livia’s work is, Partita is as simple as love and longing, as moving as music, and as finely tuned.”
Kingsolver himself received a music scholarship as an undergraduate at DePaul University, but found the prospects for a career as a musician too bleak and turned to biology. It’s nice to see her succeed in an industry known for being easy to make money.
No wonder Heat Rivalry still ranks on all five bestseller lists we track. But are you already on Theo’s golden train, I ask?
