I’m Canadian, so I can’t pretend to be invested in the future of great American novels, but… beloved It feels like the obvious answer here by Toni Morrison. As for new releases, I think they’ll still be around in 250 years, so I’m going to bet on that Last night at the Telegraph Club By Malinda Law Historical fiction tends to age more gracefully, and is a perfect snapshot of American history in all its ugliness. I can imagine it still being taught in schools 250 years from now.

Most popular science fiction and fantasy books of the past three years

Goodreads has compiled a list of the most popular SFF books of the past three years. That is, books published between June 2023 and June 2026 that are classified as either science fiction or fantasy (not romantic). Also, the average star rating must be at least 3.5.

My reading tastes are strange and specific, so it’s no surprise that I’ve only read about 5 of the 104 books they chose. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the number of strange books I found here. Queer SFF has gained popularity in recent years and has truly broken into the mainstream, with books such as: Bury the bones in the midnight soil Written by VE Schwab, bookstore and bone dust (Legends & Lattes) Written by Travis Baldry. Here’s another one of my favorites that I was pleasantly surprised to see: the river has roots A queer fey murder ballad novel by Amal El Motar. (If that doesn’t captivate you, I don’t know what will.)

Naturally, the science fiction list is packed with titles by Matt Dinniman and Martha Wells, but alongside them are also experimental and literary interpretations of science fiction. death of the author Written by Nnedi Okorafor, the sky is full of elephants Written by Sebo Campbell The Dream Hotel Written by Laila Lalami.

Bid on Romancing the Vote Auction to Defend Democracy

This is the third Romancing the Vote auction created by romance authors Courtney Millan and Kit Rocha to raise money for organizations fighting to make every vote count. This year, funds raised will go to Vote Riders and The Southern Coalition for Social Justice. You can bid on all kinds of items, from annotated books by your favorite authors to stunning artifacts and writing consultations with experts. Bidding will take place from July 1st to July 5th.
