Gottober reading aloud

Gottober 2025 is underway! This annual reading is back to celebrate spooky horror books and dark gothic tales. This year’s theme is Gothic architecture and buildings, all about spooky environments. This reading is sponsored by Olivia’s Catastrophe, LadetteM, and withluvtish. All of our organizers will be sharing lots of reading sprints, games, arts and crafts events, and more on both YouTube and Instagram.

Here you will find a Google Drive with lots of additional information, including an event calendar. Looking for some recommendations? Olivia can help. Gotthtober’s official Instagram is here, so please follow us there as well.

hello weekend read aloud

If you want to focus on your weekend reading plans, join us for this Halloweekend Read-A-Thon. Every weekend in October, we’ll have a new prompt for spooky reading. Plus, this game board-style read-aloud will have you navigating prompts that appear each weekend by exploring a haunted house.

You can join us every Thursday night through Sunday night from October 2nd to November 2nd. Ready? Here’s a Google Drive folder with everything you need.

Halloween A Thon 2025

This spooky activity-thon is a horror reading-thon, a movie-watching-thon, and a spooky seasonal activity-thon. If you need all things Halloween related this season, this will keep you busy.

This starts on September 22nd and continues until Halloween. If you just want to know about the event now, you can always start in earnest. It’s casual. This is for everyone and you can do as much as you want. Participate in at least one activity and you’ll officially become a “Pumpkinhead.” With so many Book Tubers participating, there are tons of videos, Instagram posts, and Discord channels you can follow.

But of course, why should scary book reading be relegated to spooky season? If you’re looking for year-round horror readings, check out Horror Bingo 2025-2026. Because every month should feel like October!
