June is definitely a quiet month for new YA non-fiction and YA comics to hit the shelves. Traditionally, this is quiet during the summer publishing season, but I’ve seen the first weeks of June become a bigger publication date for a few years now.

You may be able to see this soft range of titles in non-fiction and comics throughout the season. But rather than saddening how few new titles are, they’ll come! – There’s an opportunity to keep up with what’s been released so far this year.

Grab a beach blanket or head to the hammock (or the comfortable sofa in the reading corner inside) and slide into the amazing new YA non-fiction and comics of June. As a note: This month’s release is not as comprehensive or diverse as usual, and it is representative of a few new books. A more diverse product will be caught up in autumn, as we did during this winter and spring.

All of the following books are currently available:

New YA Non-Fiction in June

The Most Dangerous World: The True Story of Young Abolitionists on Slavery and Their Crusades by Christina R. Gaddy

This non-fiction work sees four abolitionist children before and after the civil war, including Frederick Douglas and William Lloyd Garrison. Despite the generations separating these young activists from today, what emerges is an coming-of-age story that sounds like familiar modern sounds. Readers learn how behaviorism passes through families and how the four young people in this book worked to separate themselves from their parents.

Beyond the Board: Maya Gabeira’s untold story of the world’s boldest big wave surfer

Those who love extreme sports or readers who love sports memoirs, look no further. This is a fascinating and fascinating read by Pro Surfer Maya Gabeira. It follows her journey from being a teenager to winning the world record for the best waves.

Arcana Book Cover

Arcana: Lost Heirs by Sam Prentice Jones

Repeated after me: a tarot-inspired fantasy.

James, Daphne, Coco and Sony all grew up in Arcana, a group of witches protecting the magic of the world. Its leader is secret and mysterious.

Eli Jones wasn’t as lucky as he grew up here or knew that Arcana existed. However, when he meets James and learns about them, he brings him to a group of friends (and finds some big feelings with James).

However, as the five begin to develop friendships, they realize that something ominous is happening, which is related to the Arcana leader. Anyway, how did these majors come to power and what has it to do with the untimely death of their parents?

You can see that the curse may be bothering five people.

Green Gables Book Cover Dan

Green Gables in Green Gables by Ray Tercielo, drawn by Claudia Aguirre

Dan Stewart-Alvarez always lives on the road with a mother, a free spirit. As much as he longed for a more stable home life, it didn’t mean he was dropped off to live with his grandparents he had never met. Now he’s in the countryside, conservative state of Tennessee, trying to live with strangers while becoming strange in a community that doesn’t tolerate it.

But as he grows into himself and his new life, Dan may begin to understand what his family looks like. And it may not look like what he imagined.

This is a spin Green gables Annefeaturing the main characters from the queer latten.

I love the cover of Misha's book

Love, Misha by Askell Aden

If you’re looking for an intergenerational road trip, this is for your TBR.

Mama Audrey is keen to spend time with Misha. This is a rare opportunity as there aren’t many Audreys. But Misha feels a way around that. Because they are non-binary and Audrey still claims that Misha is her daughter. Things don’t go well if Audrey accepts Misha as it is.

However, the duo makes the wrong turn and ends up in a forest where they are sucked into another realm. Their lives are at stake and there is no way to know how to return to their reality.

To get there and save their lives, they need to understand how they can communicate with each other openly, freely and honestly.

We might be a cover of a magic book

We can become the magic of Marissa Meyer, painted by Joel Murray

Tabitha Laurie spotted Somoresis every summer. There, I was able to step into a magical world and escape the reality of life at home. She is happy to be old enough to audition for her work in the park and help other young people experience magic like her.

The problem is that Tabi is fat and she is sure she will never get one of the princess roles she desperately wants, as she is not thin.

So, when she gets a gig on a nacho stand, it’s far from what she dreams or expects, even if she thinks it could happen. Now she is restrained and determined to make herself happy, and does it with the help of a new friend and a new crash.
