
Everand Releases 2025 State of Reading Report
Everand, a company that offers monthly access to ebooks, audiobooks, podcasts, and more, has released its 2025 Reading Report. By interviewing 1,500 U.S. consumers ages 18 to 64 who have paid for an ebook or audiobook subscription within the past two years, they find out why we read, what we read, and what we believe about books; We collected data on the evolution of reading.

- The survey found that 95% of participants thought reading was important to them.
- 95% read for leisure and 85% feel relaxed

- 50% of participants preferred reading a combination of physical and digital books
- 57% consume a combination of audiobooks and ebooks

- 84% of participants believe the best stories are the ones they love
evolution of reading
- 28% of participants believe social media has a big influence on their reading
- 34% think social media has made reading more popular
- 69% join a book club to discover new authors and books.
- 86.2% strongly oppose banning books
- 77% use ebook and audiobook formats daily or weekly
