The Indie Choice Book Awards are back.

The American Booksellers Association is bringing back the Indie Choice Book Awards, which were last held at BookExpo in 2019, to “honor the best adult fiction, adult nonfiction, children’s picture books, middle grade, young adult, debut adult, and debut children, as voted by independent booksellers.” Titles listed on ABA’s Indie Next List, Kids Indie Next List, and/or Indie Introducing List in 2025 are eligible. Voting is being accepted until February 28th (participating bookstores only). The shortlist will be announced on March 11th, voting will be open until March 25th, and winners will be announced on April 8th.

Here Comes Wuthering Heights

emerald fennel Wuthering Heights It premieres this week and should have adaptation purists clutching their pearls. fashionEileen Kelly, who attended the premiere of , reported that the film “feels more like a provocation than a revival: sharper, darker, and far more savage.” She also notes that “there’s something disturbing about watching an overtly sexual movie in a room full of strangers.” At this point, I’m more interested in the conversation about the movie than the movie itself. But in the end, Bronte’s book (I’ll Cry to My Grave) is not romance) will remain without any problems.

2026 Bram Stoker Award Nominee List

The Horror Writers Association has announced the shortlist for the annual Bram Stoker Award, which is given “for outstanding achievement” in horror works first published in English. Nominees will compete in 13 categories, including screenwriting, a category unique to the Bram Stoker Prize for Literature, for the coolest trophy in the book prize world. This year’s finalist titles include Buffalo Hunter Hunter by Stephen Graham Jones, Witchcraft for Wayward Girls by Grady Hendricks, Why I Love Horror: Essays on Horror Fiction by Becky Siegel Spratford, and Why I Love Horror: Essays on Horror Fiction by Kylie Leigh Baker. Alternative names for Bat Eater and Cora ZenRyan Coogler sinner (Good luck to the remaining nominees in the screenplay category!). Voting is open until February 15th.
