Jonathan Haidt and Katherine Price follow up their 2024 smash hit Anxious Generation with a new book that speaks directly to children. Slate’s Rebecca Onion shared Amazing Generation, which provides guidance on “how to choose fun and freedom in a world full of screens,” with the children in her life and was pleased to learn that they found it compelling. “The winning argument, they reported, was the idea that the apps their classmates were enjoying were made by people who made money by getting their classmates’ attention.” The kids might be okay.
