In the courtroom battle over the future of IMLS, Trump issued a 2026 budget proposal.
Much of this has been seen in general up until now. Later last week, details emerged about what this would look like. Remember that the IMLS budget consists of less than 0.005% of the total federal budget, and is around $313 million this year. For 2026, the budget would be reduced to just $6 million.
Goodreads has released a list of 144 most read books from the 2025 Reading Challenge (so far). Each category has 12 titles, with genres including fiction, historical fiction, mystery & thriller, fantasy, romantic, science fiction, horror, romance, young adults, memoirs, history and biography, and general non-fiction.
