It feels weird to write about books right now. But reading is political. Where one-sided reading and resistance overlap today is the Minnesota Publishing Auction.

A group of authors, editors, illustrators, and agents responded to the Minneapolis crisis by holding an auction to raise funds for organizations that provide legal aid, emergency aid, food, and more to those most affected by ICE raids, including the Minnesota Immigration Law Center, the Minnesota Women’s Foundation, and the Midwest Immigrant Bond Fund.

The auction starts today and ends tomorrow, so bid now. Items include signed books, original art, an Ask Me Anything Zoom call with the author, and more. This auction is also a great tool for writers. Many publishing professionals offer query critiques, manuscript critiques, and more. Teachers should also check out the many virtual school visits offered.

Below are some (but not all) of the queer books you can bid on. Most of these only ship within the United States, but whether you bid or not, please consider donating to one of the organizations listed.

Bundle of 7 books signed by Alexandria Bellefleur. Most of them are F/F. written in the stars And her new thoughtful F/F romance, the devil she knows.
