I read and enjoyed many of the selections. Here are some highlights from outside the dome and how to make them happen.
- Deepti Kapoor’s ‘Age of Vice’ is a house on fire, and will provide fun, scenery-chewing roles for its large cast, and will explore scenes across India, from big cities to small mountain villages. The various stages will also be wonderful. It’s fun to watch on screen. This production will require Apple’s deep pockets and willingness to create adaptations based on lesser-known titles. I think it would work best as a flashy two-hour movie, but it could also work well as a one-season limited series. FX and Hulu did very well Shōgunlet’s run those too.
- Paul Murray’s ‘The Bee Sting’ is a project I hope Sharon Horgan picks up once she’s done with it bad sisters. A multi-generational family drama set in Ireland, it’s the perfect addition to several seasons of good old-fashioned, upscale TV. HBO, where are you?
- We Ride Upon Sticks by Quan Barry is one of the most fun novels I’ve read in years, and it would be an absolute party on screen. You’ll get 80’s fashion and pop culture, an eclectic cast of teenage girls, and reliably interesting trinkets depicting Salem, Massachusetts and its witch history. Let’s hand this to the Showtime guys running. yellow jacketthey bring in Emilio Estevez to make a cameo appearance as someone’s father (a notebook with an ’80s Dreamboat face on it plays a key role in the story), and come up with an inter-universe event. Masu. hocus pocus crew.
- north woods Daniel Mason’s work is singular, original and, above all, atmospheric. This story chronicles centuries of life in a cabin in the woods of Maine. Let’s stick the camera in one place and make this a Robert Zemeckis post.here Mulligan. This will definitely be shown on the big screen.
- SA Cosby’s razor blade tears It’s sure to be a summer blockbuster. The story is about two elderly men, one black and one white, whose gay sons, who were married to each other, are murdered. Bring on Denzel Washington and Billy Bob Thornton and let’s get down to business.
