Is the board plywood or MDF, or something cheap else?

Does it stand securely without the bottom screws, as I’m hesitant to drill into nice flooring?

Yes, it can stand without bottom screws, but be sure to screw it to the wall.

Are both sides of wood shelves finished or just one side?

The wooden boards have one side that is unfinished, while the other sides are treated with colored finish.

How much space is there between the shelves? What is the distance from the floor to the bottom shelf?

The distance between the wooden boards is 11.8 inches(30cm). From the ground to the bottom of the first shelf is also 11.8 inches(30cm).
