Award-winning feminist author Margaret Atwood (Handmade Stories) has announced that he will be releasing his long-awaited memoir later this year. Ouvré, an 85-year-old Canadian writer, includes everything from 17 novels to 19 poetry books and several graphic novels, but this is her first memoir.

Part of the reason she hadn’t written before is because she thought it was boring, but her publisher brought her to the idea. In an interview with British trendsshe explained the timing to write a memoir and said, “My publisher let me do that.”

“I sweated blood through this book…but I laughed a lot too. Memoirs are something you remember, almost foolish, catastrophe, revenge, political horror. I remember, so I put them in.”

A memoir entitled Book of Lives will be published on November 4th, 2025 by Doubleday in the United States.
