Books Goodreads members are most anticipating for 2025

Now that you’re ready to turn the page on 2024, it’s time to start building up your TBR for next year. Here are Goodreads’ most anticipated books of 2025, as measured by the number of times they’re added to members’ Want to Read shelves. I’ve been poring over the 2025 catalog for the past few months, and there were a few surprises. For me too. S.A. Cosby’s next thriller “King of Ashes” godfather-Inspired Stories. Éowyn Ivey, author of The Snow Child, takes us back to Alaska with Black Woods Blue Sky, a reimagining of Alaska. beauty and the beastAli Hazlewood changes things up again, this time with a sports romance on the deep end. And “hipster con artist” Kari Ferrell reveals the juicy details of her criminal life in You’ll Never Believe Me.

Involve leaders’ leaders

Barack Obama published his favorite book of 2024 last week, to audible gasps across the book internet. President Obama took a big departure from his normally predictable reading list, reading two of the year’s biggest books: “James” by Percival Everett and “There Is Always This Year” by Hanif Abdulaqib. I skipped it. Both seemed factory-made to suit his reading tastes. (Both titles were included on President Obama’s summer reading list, but historically that didn’t prevent the books from appearing on year-end reading lists.) Best of List My big complaint about them is that they contain very little context. Or an explanation of what books made that list, and that’s never been more true than on this particular list.
