The New York Public Library has announced the finalists for the 2026 Helen Bernstein Book Award for Excellence in Journalism. The award “recognizes nonfiction books written by practicing journalists that bring attention and transparency to current events and social issues of global or national importance.” Taken together, these books provide a solid reflection of the issues facing America and the world.
