Upcoming Multi-Voiced Mystery & Thriller Audiobooks
My preferred reading format is by far audiobooks. When I am passionate about cooking, I take the initiative to wash the dishes. You’ll have more time to work during the day, and more things to relieve stress. Because audiobooks pair beautifully with working on jigsaw puzzles or Lego sets.
While I enjoy single narrators as much as full-cast performances, I know there are many fans of polyphonic audiobooks, so here are some 2026 releases to definitely add to your TBR list.
Murderer in the family Amin AhmadIt is a blend of family drama and crime novel and begins with the arranged marriage of Ali and Mariam. Ali’s life seems to be going well as he becomes part of his wife’s family’s lavish life in New York, but rifts soon appear. His father-in-law has made a number of accusations against him, and instead of believing his wife and FIL’s assurances of innocence, Ali decides to investigate the matter himself… The audiobook was released in April and is narrated by Isri Wijesundara, Lipika Shah, and Vikas Adam. Vikas Adam has narrated numerous films including “Lavender House”, “Charm Offensive”, “10 Things I Hate About Pinky”, “Madhouse at the End of the Earth”, and “Nobody’s Fool”. Lipika Shah has narrated the entire cast of the Investigators series, the YA biopic Loudmouth, and The Fall of Law: The Rise of a New America. Isri Wijesundara is the narrator of “The Fern School for Wayward Fay,” Warhol’s “Muse,” and the “Island Witches” series. |
Anatomy of an Alibi by Ashley ElstonAshley Elston has published the blockbuster crime novel First Lie Wins in 2024, which was selected by the Leith Book Club and adapted by Octavia Spencer. In January, she returned with a new twisty crime novel. This time we follow Camille, who is trying to get out of her marriage to Ben, but needs proof of Ben’s cheating. This causes her to swap places for half a day with Aubrey, a woman similar to herself. However, things take a turn for the worse when Ben dies, leaving only one of the women with an alibi. This audiobook has four narrators: MacLeod Andrews, Saskia Maarleveld, Amanda Stribling, and Dan Bittner. It can also be seen in a full-cast reading of Charlotte’s Web, led by MacLeod Andrews, who narrated The Feather Thief, Wandering Stars, Good Girl Bad Girl, and Nash Falls, and Meryl Streep. Saskia Marleveld narrated First Lie Wins and has written recent hit novels such as God of the Woods and Wild Dark Shore. And she narrated Kate Quinn’s Alice Network, The Briar Club, and The Rose Code. Amanda Stribling has appeared in numerous romance novels, including Road Trip with the Vampire and the urban fantasy series The Good Bad Witch. Dan Bittner is one of the narrators of Sadie and The Act of Violet (in case you needed a boost to finally get to those!), and has also worked in several recent horror novels, Don’t Fear the Reaper and Horror Movies. |
