Mumbai, Mother, and Mental Illness: This Autobiographical Novel Will Live In Your Mind
My favorite sentence in this book is: “When you live in a small house, your lives intertwine all the time. There’s no privacy, no way to hide what’s going on. Neither Susan nor I ran out to our room and slammed the door to shut out the world, because neither of us had a room. Our life consisted of just one bedroom and living room. We also had a kitchen and a toilet separate from the bathroom, which was very luxurious. And 4 We had to manage our lives within those walls, we had to love and cheat within earshot of each other. ”
Pick it up because of the gorgeous cover, or because of this story you read three years ago and still remember. This allows you to step into the shoes of Em, the big Hoom, their son, and daughter all at once.
