Today, NBCC announced the poetry longlist. Poetry is a form that isn’t always read, especially in America, but these titles are not only a great place to dig deeper once again, but they represent some of the best of the best, as determined by critics who understand and appreciate this form.

The National Book Critics Circle will announce the winners at a ceremony on March 26, 2026. You can learn more about NBCC and how to get involved here. Also, keep an eye out for lists to be announced for the rest of the week. NBCC announced its Fiction Longlist and Criticism Longlist on Monday, in parallel with yesterday’s announcement of its Autobiography and Biography Longlists.
