What’s worth bringing up here is that the realm of YA fiction is still much whiter than it should be. You’ll see that reflected. Even though queer people continue to experience marginalization and discrimination and hatred for their identities, white people face fewer barriers in their lives and stories than queer people of color. But as we’ve seen in all areas of LGBTQ+ YA, I think we’re going to see a lot more queer teens of color pop up in the coming years.
A complicated love story set in space by Sean David Hutchinson
Noah simply closed his eyes. He was on Earth. That was normal. But when he opened his eyes again, he found himself on a Qriosity in space with two other teens who had gone through the same experience with no idea how they got there.
Now, Noah, DJ, and Jenny are literally learning how to live and navigate space together, as well as finding ways to deal with small events like aliens and murder.
But that’s not the only challenge. The biggest thing for Noah was realizing that he had big feelings for DJ. Love is very complex, not only in space but also on Earth.

However, if she succeeds in training Sera, she may be able to uncover the reason and restore the dark hole in her memory that led her to her current position.
Aisha and Key are thrown into the same recruit unit and struggle to reach the top. Despite their different backgrounds, they are forced to work together, and are forced to confront some feelings that arise between them. All this is made much more difficult than usual thanks to the rebellion that breaks out between the government who wants submission and the people who want freedom from the fleet.
