Arthur Oakes is a college student who has access to rare books in the library, but is blackmailed by a family of drug dealers into stealing the rare books to pay off his debts. Arthur steals a book containing instructions on how to summon a dragon, and he and his friends summon King Sorrow, hoping that the dragon will take out the blackmailers. But they soon realize that dealing with dragons isn’t just one and done, and now they have to deal with King Sorrow for the rest of their lives. The story is epic, epic in length, and straddles the line between fantasy and horror in a way that only Joe Hill knows how.
