Miriam Two’s non-peace ceasefire
Miriam Two is mostly known for her novels. However, this time she’s back to her memoir. After the organizers of the literary event asked her, “Why do you write?”, Toews had to pause and ponder the question. This memoir is her answer.
A ceasefire that is not peaceful It snakes through her life, examining the history of her family and the sadness of losing someone she loves too quickly.

I’ll talk when I’m in Hara Arian’s house.
Poet Hara Aliyan makes the difficult decision to become a parent through a surrogate after years of dealing with infertility. While she waits for her child to enter the world, Alyan struggles with her marriage and the reels from news that Beirut, the youth city, is experiencing a rise in violence.
In her lyrical prose, Arian explains how to pin her to the present moment in the Palestinian family’s past stories in times of crisis.

Mother Mary comes to Arundhati Roy
Legendary author Arundhati Roy writes about her experience growing up with a single mother in Kerala, India. Her mother, Mary, passed away in 2022, and Roy was surprised at the depths of her sadness. She began writing about her mother, “To be able to continue to love her.”
Although Roy’s relationship with his mother was complicated, this first memoir from a praised writer is an incredible anti-mination of sadness and the messiness of a truly loved one.

This happened to me by Kate Price
As an Appalachian gal, I am always looking for more stories from this area. Kate Price’s new memoir provides a snapshot of North Appalachia, as she knows.
This happened to me It continues Price’s childhood and younger adulthood as she tries to break the trauma cycle of her family generation.
