The Trial of Repentance of being published

A newsletter from Charlotte Shane (the article in a post requires nomenclature at the moments when there are many newsletters), her own exposure when it’s published, and some other experiences (Rumaan Alam and Lydia Kiesling just name the couple) One of the side effects of being so many books that they’re always so many books is that most of the time, the books don’t attract that much attention. Charlie Kaufman’s new short film is coming to the public library near you

I had never thought about a straight streaming deal. I probably should have it. Charlie Kaufman’s new short film is perfect for Kanopy, a film and television service that libraries can use to acquire non-book digital media for borrowers. I don’t think Kanopy will compete with Knife Out or K-Pop Demon Hunter, but there’s a cohort of creators that are perfect for the library-first one. Libraries are subject to government funding, but that could be determined more locally. This is a data point worth looking at.
