Lian Moriarty says, “I said I came to ask for the idea for this novel when I was stuck on a plane at Hobart Airport in Tasmania. Meanwhile, the hilarious idea that every passenger on this plane will die one day has come to my mind. The novel starts with a planned plan that is very late (you guessed) to stimulate everyone on the ship. The baby is crying. People are screaming. When the plane takes off and everything seems to finally settle, chaos really begins. The passengers get up and start walking down the aisle, letting everyone else on the plane know when they died and how their deaths will happen.
For some people, women predict long, healthy lives. For others, their deaths are predicted to come the following year. Some people are predicted to die in unexpected ways. One passenger doesn’t spare. By the time the plane lands, the mysterious woman is known as all “death woman.”
Many are shaken by the predictions of women of death. Even if there’s nothing in her predictions, it’s quite unsettling to hear that your son is about to own at a young age. Or your husband will kill you. Or, you should not pass your 30th birthday. Still, when the plane lands, everyone tries to put predictions deep inside.
