Center for Fiction releases long list of first fiction awards for 2025
You read it correctly. Here is a long list of 2025 awards (this is a book published in 2025). Why do you do this? I’m not sure. Perhaps it will raise interest in the fall buying season and give these titles an extra OOMPF for the best season? To avoid the cluttered award list announcement season later this year? I’ll tell you this: it’s not because there’s a lot of extra book attendance to go around in the middle of summer. Of the 29 titles (please discipline some long lists), Sky Dad and Big black hope These are the two that I have heard the most chatter. What’s so cool is that the candidate author wins $1,000 and that horrifying process is happening in early fall.

Two pleasant stories for you
beginning: There is no reason to care about the books Dan Peltzer has read in his life. Until now.
Number 2: A book-like world can feel vast and vast, but in a way it’s quite small. And that means that sometimes large authors can thank individual bookstores for years of advocacy in a personal and engaging way.
