I’m a sucker for the author feature and Miriam Two is one of my favorites. The novelist is probably best known for her women, but now she’s back to non-fiction. A ceasefire that is not peaceful This is a memoir that delves into her relationship with her younger sister, who died of suicide in 2010. Toews visited these ideas and themes with all my andy sadness in her novel, but this is the first time she has conveyed a true version of the event. Toews grew up as a Canadian Mennonite, but it wasn’t a closed colony, but still, Toews felt isolated from the world. Her father died of suicide when he was young, and when his sister died, all of that history was refreshing.

In the summer of 1990, in honor of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) passing every July, we celebrate the story of disabled writers and their stories. In honor of Disability Pride Month, my favorite audiobook retailer, Libro.FM, has compiled a list of 11 audiobooks for Disability Pride Pride Month! It features titles recommended by bookstores across the country. The list includes some of my favorite disability lighting titles, including Care Work. Care: Justice of Dreaming Disability was written and performed by Leah Lakshmi Piepzna-Samarasinha. The visibility of obstacles edited by Alice Wong and performed by Alejandra Ospina, and the simple beauty written and read by Chloé Cooper Jones.

Speaking of audiobooks, Publisher weekly According to the Audio Publishers Association Sales Survey, audiobook sales reported an increase of 13% in 2024 over the previous year. The APA also noted that 51% of Americans reported listening to audiobooks. As a girly audiobook in a huge audiobook, I love seeing the growing love of the US for this format.
