New Judy Blume adaptations are currently streaming

If you have Netflix and are a fan of Judy Blume, I recommend this 8-episode series adapting forever. “It’s nice to know that 50 years after its release, the love story at the eternal core still resonates with the audience,” Blume said of the adaptation of showrunner Mara Brock Akil, starring Lovie Simone as Keisha and Michael Cooper Jr. as Justin. It was released in 1975, Forever It has undoubtedly become Blume’s most controversial YA novel. This becomes a target for censorship due to a clear sex scene. This is the first time this book is a teenage couple. More on how Brock Akil tells the classic story of Blume through a black lens from Nadira Goffe’s writing slate.

1919 The author and friends collaborate at a bookstore coffee shop

Well, this is a wonderful story of friendship, coffee and books. 1919 author Eve L. Ewing, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Trina Reynolds Tyler, and award-winning media-based organizer Andrea Faye Hart Longtime, friends work together to run socially conscious bookstores and cafes in Chicago. Opened in 2017, Build Coffee was co-founded by Hannah Nyhart, who sold the shop to the trio, and the team will build on community space rather than overhaul it. One update brings particularly good news for Book Lovers. Ewing says there are plans to expand the bookstore. Happy reading and caffeine to the South Side of Chicago!
