Josephin Baker published a memoir in the 1940s. Now it will arrive in the United States for the first time
As mentioned by Marcel Sauvage, a French journalist for several decades since the age notes of “How & %^*did not have this?” I’m surprised and come for free. Until tomorrow, this book was not available in English. This work is not elucidated and cannot be guessed with a little Google. Ironically, it works as a fairly rational pHOR for Baker’s imbalanced impact in Europe and the relative unclear of the mainstream American consciousness. But what a life:
Performers served as a French resistance at the beginning of World War II, and gathered Intel for the movement of German troops. She also accommodated refugees escaping from the Nazis in Chateau in southern France and raising funds for poor citizens in Paris. Baker was a frank critic of racism she witnessed in the United States, while living abroad.
Dostopia novels see the increase in sales after inauguration
If you have written a dystopia novel, one of the features is people running to bookstores to read a book about Dostopia 50 years ago. In other words, read a handmade story in 1984. But we have been reading them for decades. It didn’t work. Try something else. And don’t attack me, “At least they are reading.” Book sales peaked in 2021, but we are still where we are. The book may be a part of the puzzle, but I think these books had their shots to do what they need to do.
