Hot Boy Summer Book Cover

Hot Boy Summer by Joe Jiménez

Mac is a gay teenager whose father doesn’t accept, so he’s relieved to make gay friends: Kami. But we can see that Kami is also judgemental and even cruel. Over the summer, Mac creates two more gay friends, Flor and Mikey, rethinking their friendship with Camie. This will prepare you a lot of slang. Sandra Cisneros, author of Mango Street House“I’m 110 Absos for this #Slay. PuroPerra Fierce. Thank you, Mijo. #MamaloVesit #ForreAls.”

Summer love strategy cover

Ray Stove’s strategy for summer love

Haley and Talia were born in the same hospital on the same day and have been best friends ever since. They have supported each other through everything, including coming out (Hailey as a lesbian, Talia as a trans, bi and perhaps demi-romantic/demi-sexual). Neither of them date anyone. They decided to sign an agreement to find love this summer through a strategy worthy of rom-com. But when they finally get the date, they notice. I love my girlfriend talking about my girlfriend!

B'more Cover King

King of B’more by R. Eric Thomas

Harrison and Linas are queer best friends who they’re together last summer before college. At least that was the plan. However, afterwards, Linus drops a bomb that says his family is moving at the end of the week. Inspired by Ferrisbuhler HolidayHarrison is determined to bring together a significant summer experience together, including Pride Parade, Mini Road Trip and Rooftop Dance Party.

Summer girl cover

Summer Girls by Jennifer Dugan

Jennifer Dugan is the queen of the monarchs of Suffick YA in the summer. Hot Dog Girl is my personal favorite and this is a bisexual rom.com about saving amusement parks. Then about two exes that work together on the ice cream truck will melt with you. And now we have Summer girl. Cass is a town that resents “summer girls” who take vacations in the town of beach. Birdie is a rich summer girl who crashed her boyfriend’s car. In punishment, Birdie has to get a job this summer and Cass has to oversee. At first, both of them resented the arrangement, but as they spend their time together they begin to see each other differently.
